2024 sees us celebrate 70 years of providing traditional Lake District hospitality to visitors to the Woodlands Tea Room and Gift Shop.

Serving visitors to the Lake District since 1954, when the craft shop was just a small garden shed at the bottom of a garden, serving walkers flasks of tea.

Afternoon Tea

Probably the most popular item on the menu, our afternoon teas provide a wonderful mix of savoury and sweet homemade treats accompanied by tea and coffee from Carvetti. 

Take Aways

The majority of the items on our menu, are available to take away at anytime or can be delivered in the local area by arrangement. We can also cater to larger groups of 8 or more for takeaway lunches, dinners or other items.

Catering & Events

We cater to a wide range of events, including children’s parties, tapas nights, business lunches and outdoor picnics and provide a range of options for pick up or delivery (a small charge may apply).

Celebration Cakes

Whatever the occasion, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Christenings or any other celebration we can provide a homemade cake tailored to your requirements.
